At the moment, the point of this blog is to be a record of my progress as I try to teach myself Rust. I have no real coding experience and am also a complete moron, so I'm starting from sqaure -1 here. More experienced developers may find it amusing to watch me flail around with concepts that are far beyond my understanding, and fellow beginners might be encouraged to know that however dumb they might be, at least they aren't *this* dumb.
Really, though, I intend for this to be a personal journal more than anything, and I don't expect it to be read by anyone.
For the purposes of this blog, it may be more pertinent to describe who I am not. I am not a professional developer, nor do I have any real background in programming. I have a degree in a very specific field of biology and I am currently working as a developer/data analyst/printer error fixer for a small business, but most of my wisdom comes directly from ChatGPT. The only code I’ve ever written without AI assistance was for an intro to programming course that I took as an elective in my final year of college. I aim to fix that.
Because it seems difficult to learn, and the part of my brain that is dedicated to learning things is slowly atrophying.
I like the crab mascot. The gopher's bulbous stare bothers me.
